Body Acne: What it is and What you can do to get rid of it

Body acne is an incredibly common problem in the world today, especially among the Western societies, and this is due mainly to the fact of what is eaten in this area of the world. Western societies tend to consume a lot more fatty and greasy foods and get less physical activity, and so this adds up to problems such as body acne.

What is Body Acne?

Body acne is simply acne that is all over the body, rather than just on the face and it can be a seriously debilitating problem because it is so obvious and because thus people can notice it and it can cause serious self-esteem problems.

As with all other types of acne, the exact cause of body acne is yet unknown, however it is known that irritation can make it worse, and that if you get acne in a certain place it may be an external irritant that is involved here. Tight fitting clothes may irritate it as well, and it is really impossible to be able to keep the areas of your back and butt untouched, and so this may seem difficult, but it can be done.

Aside from stress, hormones, and menstrual breakouts, which are considered as being the usual acne suspects, friction from your clothing can actually add more irritation to places that have already broken out, and when you perspire in tight clothing, the sweat gets trapped in your skin and then it mixes with your body’s natural oils, producing a pore-clogging film.

It should be known that body acne is not always easy to treat, and thus can often times be more difficult to treat than facial acne because body skin is much thicker; however, with the right regimen it can be successfully treated, and there are several factors that you should take into consideration in regards to this.

For instance, you want to keep yourself as clean as possible of all times, and make sure to keep oil away from yourself as much as possible, and this means not eating greasy or fatty foods, and not using oily makeup, because both of these things are going to just make the acne worse. By following this type of regimen, you will truly be surprised at how quickly your acne goes away, and thus you will be happy.
